Many fixed-pitch strings, none played directly. A surface transducer on the soundboard or bridge is fed any audio (noise, voice, sampler), and the strings matching that audio ring.
How it works
Many fixed-pitch strings, none played directly.
A surface transducer on the soundboard or bridge is fed any audio (noise, voice, sampler). Strings matching that audio ring. Noise input makes the freed strings the chord.
Dampers are the keyboard: damped by default with springs, actuators lift to free a string. Partial damping gives harmonics and swells.
Tuning is compositional: chromatic, harmonic series, or pentatonic.
A harpsichord body is a natural home.
Risks
Volume is faint: shared solid bridge, piezo, gain. Watch feedback between transducer and pickup.
